Men’s Basketball’s Hinton Set to Compete at Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Basketball rising junior guard Robert Hinton is set to compete at the 2026 Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp from June 30 to July 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada as one of 12 collegiate student-athletes nationally to attend the invite-only camp.
 
The four-day camp is held annually for the nation's top guards in high school and college. The camp includes personal instruction from 12-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul alongside other coaches with NBA experience. The camp was created to teach what it takes to play at the highest level and how to prepare for the challenges at the NCAA Division I and NBA levels.
 
Paul's camps – which began in 2008 – have included the likes of Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson, De'Aaron Fox, Donovan Mitchell, Jamal Murray, Trae Young, Trae Young, DeMar DeRozan, Ja Morant, Kemba Walker, Bradley Beal, Victor Oladipo, Fred VanVleet, CJ McCollum, Malik Monk, Jordan Poole, Coby White, and Jared McCain among the 100 NBA players who have attended one of Paul's camps, either as a camper, counselor, or workout participant.
 
Recent alumni of the camp have also included Houston's Kingston Flemings, Connecticut's Solo Ball and Silas Demary Jr., BYU's Robert Wright III, Iowa's Bennett Stirtz, Missouri's Anthony Robinson II, Purdue's Braden Smith, and Ohio State's John Mobley Jr.
 
A unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection as well as a First Team NABC All-District honoree this past season, Hinton tallied 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game on the year, while shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 82.9 percent from the free throw line. This past winter, he ranked first in the Ivy League in field goals (187), fourth in points (486), fifth in points per game (16.8), fifth in free throw percentage (82.9), fifth in minutes per game (33.5), sixth in free throws (87), and sixth in steals per game (1.4). For the season, Hinton scored in double figures 24 times, notched nine 20-point games, and eclipsed 30 points twice. A CSC Academic All-District selection, he gained the team's Raymond P. Lavietes '36 Most Valuable Player Award for the second straight season.
 
During his first season at Harvard in 2024-25, Hinton earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors unanimously and captured Ivy League Rookie of the Week eight times. Hinton averaged 14.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals, and 30.0 minutes per game, while scoring in double figures 19 times in 27 games. He shot 47.7 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from 3-point distance, and 76.3 percent from the free throw line.
 
Hinton has also competed with and against professional athletes through his time with the Chinese Taipei senior men's national team. Hinton – who helped Chinese Taipei reach the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup and capture silver medals at the Jones Cup in both 2024 and 2025 – has played in 21 career games for the Chinese Taipei senior men's national team, posting 12.8 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, a 47.6 field goal percentage, 40.0 3-point percentage, and 82.8 free throw percentage.
 
As a team, Harvard posted a 17-12 overall record and 10-4 mark in Ivy League play this past year, finishing in second place in the Ivy League standings for its best finish since the 2019-20 season. The Crimson qualified for the Ivy League Tournament for the first time since 2020 and competed in the event for the first time since 2019 as the 2020 edition was canceled due to COVID-19. For the year, the Crimson led the NCAA in free throw percentage (79.9 percent) and led the conference in scoring defense (66.7).
