CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's hockey has announced its 2026-27 schedule, featuring 15 regular-season games at Bright-Landry Hockey Center, the 74th Beanpot and a full 22-game ECAC Hockey slate.
Rob Rassey is set to begin his tenure as the Robert D. Ziff '88 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice Hockey in 2026-27 after being named the 12th head coach in program history earlier this summer.
Key underclassmen Richard Gallant and Heikki Ruohonen, along with junior Mick Thompson, are set to return to the Crimson up front, while Matthew Morden and Sean Keohane will lead Harvard on the blue line. Senior Michael Callow will join Morden as the team's two captains for the season.
The Crimson will open the season with an exhibition matchup against Northeastern on Friday, Oct. 23, at Bright-Landry before beginning the regular season with a home-and-home series against Massachusetts. Harvard played at historic Matthews Arena last year in the preseason in its final trip to its former home.
Harvard hosts the Minutemen on Thursday, Oct. 29, to kick off the season at Bright-Landry before traveling to Amherst the following night. It marks the first time Harvard has played a home-and-home series with a non-conference opponent in at least 26 years.
Harvard will then open ECAC play at home against Brown and Yale on Nov. 6-7. Harvard has not lost to Yale at home since 2017 and is 8-0-1 in its last nine meetings with the Bulldogs at Bright-Landry.
The Crimson then travels across the river to face Boston University on Tuesday, Nov. 10, before playing its first conference road games of the year at Princeton and Quinnipiac the following weekend on Nov. 13-14.
Heading into Thanksgiving, the Crimson returns to Cambridge to host Bentley on Tuesday, Nov. 24, before welcoming Dartmouth on Black Friday and Boston College on Sunday, Nov. 29, for a busy holiday weekend on campus. The Crimson last hosted Boston College during Thanksgiving break three seasons ago.
Harvard closes the fall portion of its schedule with a road trip to the Capital Region to play RPI and Union on Dec. 4-5.
Following the winter break, the Crimson resumes play with road matchups against Yale and Brown on Jan. 1-2. Harvard then begins a four-game homestand, hosting Quinnipiac, Princeton, Clarkson and St. Lawrence over consecutive weekends. Harvard has faced both St. Lawrence and Clarkson in the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, most recently earning a comeback overtime win against the Saints last season to advance to the quarterfinals for the 10th consecutive year.
The Crimson travels to Ithaca for a rematch of last season's ECAC Quarterfinal series against Cornell before heading to Colgate during the weekend of Jan. 22-23. Harvard then returns home to face Vermont on Friday, Jan. 29, in its final tune-up before the Beanpot.
Harvard opens the 74th Beanpot against Northeastern on Monday, Feb. 1, at TD Garden. Harvard has defeated Northeastern in each of the last two seasons in the Beanpot third-place game.
The Crimson travels to Dartmouth four days later to close the season series before returning to the Garden on Monday, Feb. 8, to face either Boston College or Boston University.
Harvard begins the final stretch of the regular season with home games against Union and RPI on Feb. 12-13. The Crimson will then welcome Colgate and Cornell to Bright-Landry for its final home weekend of the regular season before closing the conference slate on the road against St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Feb. 26-27.
The ECAC Hockey playoffs begin on March 5, with the quarterfinals scheduled for March 12. The conference semifinals and championship game will take place March 19-20 in Lake Placid.
