Harvard Softball Summer Spotlight: Megan Davies

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – This summer, senior Megan Davies was a Policy Intern at the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) in Washington, D.C.

Many things drew Megan to this internship, such as being close to home and the opportunity to work in D.C., but the most attractive part to her was how closely it aligned with her interests in solutions-based environmental and energy policy work. She was excited to learn how nonprofits approach solving such complex problems while considering a wide range of affected stakeholders, and being able to contribute to that important work was extremely rewarding.

Megan experienced remarkable growth both professionally and personally during her time at EESI. She learned how to carry herself in an office space and what it means to advocate for herself as a young professional. Conversations with her supervisors pushed her in the right direction and helped her realize her own potential in this field. The skills and experiences she gained this summer will stay with her forever.

Her favorite memory, "Getting to know the staff and her fellow interns. The office had such a warm and welcoming culture, and every conversation was valued. She loved getting to hear about others' work and how their own professional experiences led them to EESI. It was truly a special place to be!"
