Harvard Softball Summer Spotlight: Sophie Sun

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – This summer, rising senior Sophie Sun '27 worked as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at UBS in the Leveraged Finance Group.

She was drawn to Leveraged Finance because she wanted to work in a technical, fast-paced environment while gaining exposure to live transactions across multiple sectors. She was especially excited to develop her financial modeling skills and see how deals progress from initial analysis through execution.

Throughout the summer, Sophie strengthened both her technical and professional skills by working through financial analyses and forecasting, collaborating with various deal teams, and working directly with clients. These experiences gave her valuable insight into the industry while allowing her to grow and learn in a fast-paced professional environment.

Her favorite part of the experience, "getting to work on real transactions and seeing the work her team contributed to deals that ultimately closed. It was incredibly rewarding to see the full process and understand how each piece of the work fits into a larger transaction."
