CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --The Harvard men's water polo team mustered the first two goals of the fourth quarter, but could not complete its comeback attempt, falling to Iona, 14-11, in CWPA Northern Division action Sunday at Blodgett Pool.

Bret Voith led Harvard scorers with three goals, while Egen Atkinson and Alex Thompson netted two goals apiece in the loss.  Jeff Lee, Kevin DiSilvestro and Evan Zepfel added a goal each.  Between the pipes, Alexandre Popp stopped seven shots by Iona players.

Harvard and Iona were tied, 7-7, early in the third quarter, but the Gaels rattled off four straight tallies to grab an 11-7 advantage.  The Crimson got within two scores, 12-10, at the start of the fourth, but could not inch closer.

Harvard, which falls to 5-14 overall and 3-2 in Northern Division action, closes out its regular season by hosting Fordham Saturday, Oct. 17 and St. Francis (N.Y.) Sunday, Oct. 18.
