CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Jillian Dempsey scored two goals and added an assist, while Kate Buesser notched a goal and handed out three assists and Leanna Coskren had a tally and two helpers to guided the eighth-ranked Harvard women's hockey team to a 7-2 win over Quinnipiac Sunday afternoon at Bright Hockey Center. The Crimson's seven goals marked the most for the program since Harvard notched eight goals in the opening round of the 2009 Beanpot against Boston University.

In the first, Quinnpiac grabbed an early lead when Bethan Dymarczyk made a long pass from the Bobcats' zone to center ice, finding Janine Duffy. Duffy skated in alone on Harvard goaltender Christina Kessler and scored at 1:47. Less than three minutes later, Dempsey deflected a shot by Coskren from the point, netting the game at 4:14. Later on in the first, Randi Griffin batted home a rebound in front, giving Harvard a 2-1 lead at 11:11. After Quinnipiac was whistled for checking, Harvard notched another goal only 65 seconds later, as Coskren made it a 3-1 contest, coming on a Harvard power play at 12:16.

In the second, Harvard (3-3, 3-3 ECAC Hockey) netted three more goals to grab a 6-1 lead. First, Katharine Chute notched the Crimson's fourth tally of the day at 9:34 after receiving a pass from Anna McDonald. Only 47 seconds later, Harvard increased its advantage to 5-1, as Kaitlin Spurling scored on a one-timer from the slot at 10:21. Randi Griffin won a faceoff in the Quinnipiac zone, before sliding a pass to Farni, who chipped the puck ahead to Spurling for the goal. Harvard added another tally on a shot off the stick of Dempsey at 11:29. Quinnipiac ended Harvard's streak of six straight goals with a power-play score by Janine Duffy at 13:51.

In the third, Harvard capped the scoring, as Deborah Conway passed the puck in front to Buesser, who tapped a shot into the empty side of the net at 13:57. Harvard outshot Quinnipiac, 28-18, for the game and held an impressive advantage in faceoffs, 42-16. Kessler earned her third win of the season, making 13 saves. Laura Bellamy played the final nine minutes in net for Harvard, stopping three shots.
