ITHACA, N.Y. -- Freshmen Louis Leblanc, Conor Morrison and Alex Fallstrom each found the back of the net with a goal, and goaltender Ryan Carroll stopped 24 shots, but the Harvard men's hockey team fell in its upset bid at fifth-ranked Cornell, 6-3, Saturday evening at Lynah Rink. Harvard (1-2, 1-2 ECAC Hockey, 1-1 Ivy League) led 3-1 midway through two periods, but the Big Red (3-0, 3-0 ECAC Hockey, 2-0 Ivy League) tallied the game's final five goals for the win.

With 5:30 remaining in the first, Leblanc netted his second goal of the young season, putting Harvard ahead, 1-0, as Michael Biega and Chris Huxley teamed up with assists on the tally. After the Big Red tied the game with an even-strength score by Patrick Kennedy at 4:04 of the second, Harvard responded quickly, regaining the lead, 2-1, only 74 seconds later. Ryan Grimshaw found Morrison wide open for the goal, Morrison's first of his collegiate career.

The Crimson tacked on another goal later in the second period at 9:44, as Fallstrom beat Ben Scrivens with a quick shot, doubling Harvard's lead to 3-1. Huxley handed out his second assist of the game on the goal, while Doug Rogers earned the primary assist. With 2:06 to play in the second stanza, the Big Red cut its deficit in half, as Mike Devin scored on the power play after Harvard was called for a hooking penalty. Through two periods, Harvard was accurate in its shooting, scoring three goals on only 14 shots.

Cornell struck three times in the first 9:11 of the third period, coming on two goals by Joe Devin and a power-play tally off the stick of Blake Gallagher. The Big Red capped the scoring in the contest, as Greg Miller fired a shot past Carroll at 13:29.

Harvard will continue its five-game stretch of road contests at Quinnipiac and Princeton No. 13-14.
