CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Harvard men's water polo
team concluded its season with a 15-8 victory over Queens (N.Y.)
Sunday at the Northern Division Championships, hosted by the
Crimson at Blodgett Pool. Harvard placed fifth at the
tournament and finishes the year with a 7-17 overall record.
Harvard held a comfortable lead throughout the contest, before
putting Queens away with a 5-1 outburst in the fourth
quarter. Bret Voith paced the Crimson's scoring attack with
four goals, while also stepping up defensively, making five
steals. Goalkeeper Nikhil Balaraman made eight saves and
fellow seniors Dan Furman, who netted a goal, Thomas Bailey and
Egen Atkinson helped Harvard earn the win in their final collegiate
game.
Max Eliot chipped in with a hat trick, while Jeff Lee supplied two
goals for the Crimson. Rounding out the scoring for Harvard
were Kevin DiSilvestro, Luka Babic, Antone Martinho, Mike Katzer
and Alex Thompson who notched a goal apiece.
