CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Junior Emma Markley had her second straight double-double as she scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in Harvard's 85-68 win over the visiting Terriers of Boston University. The Crimson rallied from an early second half deficit to improve to 5-3 on the season. Boston University falls to 3-4.

Sophomore Brogan Berry led the team in scoring with 19 and added seven assists. Junior co-captains Christine Matera and Claire Wheeler joined Berry and Markley in double figures with 16 and 14, respectively.

In the first half, neither team could muster more than a five point lead, as there were six lead changes and three ties. Harvard shot just 34 percent (10-for-29) in the opening 20 minutes, while the Terriers made 51.9 percent of their shots. The Crimson trailed going into the locker rooms at the half, 32-28.

The Terriers opened the second half with an 11-2 run in the first two minutes to bring the lead to 43-30. A three pointer by junior Jackie Alemany,who had eight points, six rebounds and five steals, sparked a brief Crimson run to cut the lead to five, but the Terriers held on until a layup by Berry tied the game at 51 with just over 10 minutes left to play.

A fast-break layup by Berry at the nine minute mark sparked a 34-15 run for the Crimson to close out the game. In the closing minutes, Harvard led by as many as 19 points. In the second half, the Crimson shot 66.7 percent from the floor, including eight of 12 from behind the arc.

With the win, Harvard is now 4-0 in Lavietes Pavilion on the season and averages just over 78 points per game in those contests.

Harvard hosts Northeastern Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. before a 20-day break for exams and the holidays.
