CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Brady Weissbourd was named the EIVA Hay Division Player of the Week as announced Monday by the conference office, the fourth time this season the co-captain has earned the award.

Weissbourd again led the Harvard offense as the Crimson defeated Sacred Heart, 3-1, Saturday afternoon during Senior Day at the Malkin Athletic Center. The win, the fifth in a row for the Crimson, clinched at least a share of the division for Harvard (11-6, 6-1 Hay), as the team can win the title outright Friday at second-place Rutgers-Newark.

For the 10th time out of the past 11 matches, Weissbourd had 19 or more kills, knocking down 24 against the Pioneers on a .349 attack percentage. He contributed six digs, four blocks, one assist and tied his career high with five service aces, easily posting the most points in the match with 31.5.

Weissbourd currently ranks second in the EIVA and sixth in the nation in kills with 5.28 per set, as well as second in the conference and third in the nation with 0.56 service aces. He also stands fourth and 10th, respectively, with an average of 1.40 blocks per set and 24th in the country in hitting percentage (.352).

The award was the fifth overall for the Crimson and the fourth for Weissbourd after he earned the distinction Feb. 3, March 9 and March 30. Freshman Matt Jones was named player of the week March 16 as Harvard has won the award four times during the last five weeks the team has competed.

The Crimson will conclude the regular season Friday at Rutgers-Newark at 7 p.m. before playing in the first round of the EIVA Conference Championship April 22.
