PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Crimson men's water polo
team put forth a solid defensive effort against Fordham, but
Harvard fell to the Rams 8-4, on the second day of competition at
the ECAC Championships, held at DeNunzio Pool.
After Fordham jumped out to a 4-1 lead, the Crimson battled back
to pull within one score, 4-3, but the Rams tallied four of the
next five goals to pull away. Harvard finished the game
0-for-7 on 6-on-5 chances and was successful on 4-of-25 shot
attempts. "We did an adequate job defensively, allowing
Fordham to score only eight goals," said Harvard head coach Erik
Farrar. "However, we did not do an adequate job on the
offensive side of the ball."
Luka Babic tallied two goals, while Egen Atkinson and Jeff Lee had
a marker apiece. Alexandre Popp played in goal, making nine
saves.
The Crimson (2-8) will play either George Washington or
Connecticut College in the ninth-place matchup Sunday at 9:30
a.m.
