The Harvard men's hockey team and Dartmouth face off Monday at 3 p.m. at Bright Hockey Center in the deciding contest of a three-game season series. The Crimson is looking to win its third straight home game and beat its second Ivy League opponent in a week.

Former Crimson captain, NCAA Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player and 13-year National Hockey League veteran Ted Donato '91 is in his sixth season as The Robert D. Ziff '88 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice Hockey. He owns an 85-78-19 record, three ECAC title-game appearances and two NCAA tournament bids.

Last Time Out
Louis Leblanc (Kirkland, Que.) scored twice and Ryan Carroll (Hackensack, N.J.) made 35 saves as Harvard downed fifth-ranked rival Yale, 3-2, Tuesday. Alex Fallstrom (Stockholm, Sweden) netted his first career goal as Harvard scored three goals in less than eight minutes of the second period and held off Yale in the third. Leblanc registered his first multi-goal game, and Ryan Grimshaw (Rochester, N.Y.) logged two assists.

Following a scoreless first period, Yale scored just 36 seconds into the second. Leblanc answered just 92 seconds later, and Fallstrom put the Crimson on top 64 seconds after that.

[Top-]Five Hole
Harvard's win against No. 5 Yale was its first against a top-five team since then-freshman Kyle Richter (Calgary, Alta.) and the Crimson shut out No. 3 Boston College, 4-0, Nov. 7, 2006.

Tackling the Top 10
Harvard has defeated four of its last six top-10 opponents. The Crimson knocked off Cornell and Princeton, both ranked sixth at the time of their games at Harvard, late last season. The Crimson has now beaten then-No. 8 Quinnipiac and No. 5 Yale in its last two home games.

Halfway Home
The Yale game was Harvard's 15th, bringing the Crimson past the regular season's midpoint. Harvard has played five of its 10 Ivy games and reaches the midpoint of its ECAC Hockey season against Dartmouth, the 11th of 22 league games.

Oct. 30 at Thompson Arena
Alex Killorn (Montreal, Que.) scored two goals and assisted on another, all in the second period, to lead Harvard to a 5-3 win in both teams' season opener. Kyle Richter made 41 saves, while Louis Leblanc, Marshall Everson (Edina, Minn.) and Daniel Moriarty (Bienfait, Sask.) each had a goal and an assist. Rob Smith's goal gave Dartmouth a 1-0 lead in the first period, and the Big Green got third-period goals from Adam Estoclet and Joe Gaudet. Jody O'Neill made 23 saves.

Nov. 29 at Bright Hockey Center
Dartmouth scored two goals in each period to overcome two tallies by Daniel Moriarty and defeat Harvard, 6-2. Moriarty scored twice on the power play, with Alex Fallstrom and Michael Biega (Montreal, Que.) assisting on both goals. Ryan Carroll made 34 saves for the Crimson. Dartmouth got two goals and an assist from Scott Fleming, four points from Adam Estoclet and 27 saves from Jody O'Neill.

The Bright Stuff
The Crimson is 55-25-3 (.680) at home under Ted Donato and 277-118-28 (.690) all-time at Bright Hockey Center.

The Bright Stuff, Rivalry Edition
With Tuesday's win, Harvard improved to 29-3-3 (.870) against Yale at Bright Hockey Center. Dartmouth's Nov. 29 win ended Harvard's 13-game series home win streak, and the Crimson is 26-5 (.840) against the Big Green at Bright.

Series History
Dartmouth's Nov. 29 win ended Harvard's six-game unbeaten run (5-0-1) in the series. Harvard lost just once (7-0 in 2000-01) to the Big Green in a 20-game span from 1996 to 2004 and owns a 124-56-9 all-time series edge. The teams first met Feb. 7, 1907, a 12-3 Crimson win at Harvard Stadium.

Harvard vs. Dartmouth in 2008-09
The Crimson opened last season with a 4-1 Halloween-night home win against the Big Green, with Pier-Olivier Michaud (Mont-Joli, Que.) notching a goal and two assists. Michael Biega had a goal and an assist, while Doug Rogers (Watertown, Mass.) logged two helpers.

The rematch Jan. 25 in Hanover, N.H., was a wild 5-5 tie. The Crimson trailed by two goals but rallied to take the lead twice in the third period, only to see the Big Green answer twice. Rogers registered a hat trick and an assist. Ryan Grimshaw scored the first goal of his career to give Harvard a lead with about five minutes remaining in regulation, but Evan Stephens scored the equalizer for Dartmouth. John Riley (Lake Forest, Ill.) made 37 saves for the Crimson, while the Big Green's Jody O'Neill made 18 of his 32 stops after the second intermission.

Scouting the Big Green
The Nov. 29 win was Dartmouth's third straight, but the Big Green is 1-5 since then. Adam Estoclet notched a hat trick and Matt Reber had five points in a 9-4 win against Brown Jan. 8, but the Big Green could not rally from a three-goal hole in a 4-2 loss to Yale two days later and lost to intrastate rival New Hampshire, 5-2, Saturday. The Big Green and Wildcats each had two goals and 12 shots after one period, but UNH scored three unanswered goals and outshot Dartmouth, 26-14, the rest of the way.

Scott Fleming owns team-leading totals of eight goals and 15 points, while three players (Estoclet, Doug Jones, Reber) share the team lead with nine assists. Estoclet ranks second with six goals, eight assists and 14 points. Jody O'Neill has been in net for all four of the Big Green's wins and has a save percentage of .892 and a 3.73 goals-against average.

Brotherly Love
The Crimson and Big Green have a total of four sets of brothers: Danny, Michael and Alex Biega (Montreal, Que.) for Harvard and the Gaudets (Jim and Joe), Goggins (Connor and Mark) and Walshes (Dustin and Nick) for Dartmouth.

Ivy Implications
Following Harvard's win against Yale, all six Ivy League hockey teams had played exactly five Ivy games. The win lifted Harvard into third place, three points back of Yale and Cornell, but the Bulldogs beat Brown, 8-5, Saturday to gain two points on the rest of the league. The Crimson has won a league-high 21 Ivy titles, most recently in 2006.

Pacing the Crimson
Louis Leblanc's two goals against Yale tied him with fellow rookie Conor Morrison (London, Ont.) for the team goal-scoring lead. Michael Biega is Harvard's top overall scorer with 13 points and setup man with nine assists. Alex Killorn, Leblanc and Biega's linemate, put six shots on goal against the Bulldogs and leads the team with 63 on the season. Kyle Richter owns a .905 save percentage.

Impressing the Scouts
Danny Biega (Montreal, Que.) is ranked 31st among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting's midseason ranking of 2010 NHL Entry Draft prospects, released last week. He is one of four current collegians, the only one from an Eastern school, on the list. Biega, who turned 18 just a month before the start of the season, has skated in all 15 of Harvard's games.

Who's Hot?
Daniel Moriarty has registered points in six of the last eight games and has three goals and six assists for nine points in that span. In the last two home games, Louis Leblanc has three goals and Ryan Grimshaw has three helpers.
