The Series
Saturday's game will be just the 16th meeting between Harvard and
Lehigh in a rivalry that dates to 1928. Harvard leads the series by
a count of 8-7 after a dominating win last year in Bethlehem,
Pa.
Last Year's Meeting
Although the final score was 28-14, Harvard's defense controlled
the play throughout. Collier Winters
threw two second-quarter touchdowns and Cheng Ho '10 scored two TDs
in his first start of the season.
Harvard's defense forced five turnovers, including four
interceptions - one of which was returned 60 yards for a score by
Jon Takamura '10.
Collin
Zych had two interceptions and Takamura added two of Harvard's
four sacks. Harvard allowed just seven first downs in the first
three quarters as it built a 28-7 lead before cruising to the
win.
Ho rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, adding a
13-yard touchdown catch.
Harvard's Last Time Out
Gino Gordon
ran for 158 yards and a touchdown to help Harvard defeat Cornell
31-17.
The Crimson (3-1, 1-1 Ivy League) finished with 314 yards on the
ground for its second 300 yard rushing game in as many weeks.
Harvard ran for 311 yards a week before against Lafayette.
The ground attack proved a potent weapon for Harvard, which held
the ball for 31:18 minutes - and the Crimson's big-play ability
proved too much as the home side had 17 plays of 10 yards or
greater during the game.
Gordon ran for the only score of the first half -- a 19-yard
touchdown with 3:35 left.
The Crimson pushed their lead to 24-3 on a 43-yard touchdown run
by Rich
Zajeski with 8:29 remaining to pull away.
Treavor
Scales had 93 yards on 11 carries and Colton Chapple
was 16-for-35 with 191 yards and a touchdown for Harvard.
The Crimson collected nine sacks on the day as well while
holding Cornell to just 80 yards of offense in the first half.
Lehigh's Last Time Out
Lehigh's Chris Lum threw two touchdown passes to lead the Mountain
Hawks to a 21-17 victory over Fordham.
Lum completed 14 of 23 passes for 146 yards and senior tailback
Jay Campbell carried 22 times for 92 yards for the Mountain Hawks
(3-2, 1-0).
Ryan Spadola scored his first career touchdown on a 12-yard pass
from Lum with 6:06 left in the first quarter and Lum threw a
17-yard touchdown pass to Zach Barket in the third for Lehigh's
final score.
Fordham quarterback Blake Wayne completed 24 of 41 passes for
343 yards and a touchdown as four Rams receivers surpassed the
70-yard receiving mark.
Fordham (2-4, 0-1) led 10-7 on a 39-yard reception by David
Moore, but Lehigh responded with Michael Colvin's 6-yard TD run for
a 14-10 halftime lead.
Fordham drove to the Lehigh 27 in the final 2 minutes, but could
not score.
Patriot Prowess
When Harvard hosts Lehigh, the Crimson will be going for its sixth
undefeated nonconference season since 2001.
The Crimson is 10-4 in its last 14 nonleague road games since
the 1999 season.

and Lafayette) by a combined score of 69-16 this season
Harvard Coach Tim Murphy
In his 17th season as Harvard's head coach, Tim Murphy enters
Saturday's game with a 106-56 record with the Crimson and a
139-101-1 overall head coaching record, which includes five years
at Cincinnati and two years at Maine. Murphy is one of just five
coaches to win 100 games since the formation of the Ivy League in
1954. Murphy has led Harvard to five Ivy League championships
(1997, 2001, 2004, 2007, 2008). He is 4-5 all-time against
Lehigh.
