POTSDAM, N.Y. –
Kate Buesser and Liza Ryabkina each netted goals for the fourth-ranked Harvard women's hockey team, but the Crimson dropped the ECAC Hockey semifinal matchup at No. 6 Clarkson, 3-2, at Cheel Arena Friday evening. Laura Bellamy made 19 saves for Harvard, which falls to 20-7-5 this season.

The Crimson will now await the NCAA tournament selection show, which will be streamed online at NCAA.com Sunday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. EST.

Clarkson (23-10-5) went ahead, 1-0, at 6:07 of the first period, as a shot by Daris Tendler deflected off the glove of Bellamy and bounced into the net. Through the first 20 minutes of play, the Golden Knights had a slight edge in shots, 6-5.

At 8:51 of the second, Buesser tied the game as she tipped in a pass from across the ice by Josephine Pucci. Deborah Conway dropped a pass to Pucci, who flicked the puck from the top of the left circle to the right side of the crease. Clarkson goaltender Lauren Dahm did not slide over quick enough, allowing Buesser to shoot at a wide portion of the net.

After Clarkson was whistled for interference and cross-checking penalties at 13:01 and 13:28, respectively, the Crimson capitalized on the 5-on-3 chance. Off a faceoff victory by Jillian Dempsey, Anna McDonald took a shot on net, which Dahm stopped, but the chance created a rebound to the goaltender's left. Ryabkina picked up the rebound and lifted it over Dahm at 14:07. The Harvard lead was short-lived, as Brittany Mulligan made it a 2-2 game at 17:36. The Crimson outshot the Golden Knights, 13-5, in the middle frame.

With 2:07 to play in the third, Gabrielle Kosziwka put Clarkson ahead, 3-2, with a wrister through traffic, as she placed the shot through Bellamy's legs for the game-winning tally.

Harvard held the final count in shots, 25-22, and was 1-for-4 on the power play.
