CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Former members of the
Harvard and Radcliffe heavyweight crews are set to represent the
United States and Canada this weekend at the Rowing World Cup in
Lucerne, Switzerland.
Fresh off a win at the Henley Royal Regatta, former Harvard
standout Henrik Rummel '09 will be part of the U.S.
men's four. On the women's side, Esther Lofgren
'08-09 will be stroking the U.S. eight, a boat that includes
Laura Larsen-Strecker '08. Both Lofgren and Larsen-Strecker
were two-time All-Americans during their Radcliffe careers.
Olympic gold medalist Malcolm Howard '05, a three-time
national champion at Harvard, is set to represent Canada in the
men's single. Howard is coming off a semifinal appearance at
Henley last week. Brodie Buckland '06 who won a national title for
the Crimson will row in the Australian eight.

The Lucerne regatta is the third and final in the Rowing World
Cup series, following up installments in Bled, Slovenia (May 28-30)
and Munich, Germany (June 18-20). Howard won the B final in Bled
and finished sixth in the A final in Munich. The U.S. men's
four finished first in Munich, while the women's eight is
making its 2010 World Cup debut in Lucerne.
