The 21st-ranked Harvard men's soccer team looks to snap a
three-game winless streak, as the squad hits the road for away
contests at Stony Brook Sept. 24 and Boston University Sept.
26.
The Crimson enters the weekend with a 2-1-2 overall mark, while
the Seawolves stand at 4-4-0. The Terriers, who host Rhode
Island Friday evening, head into the week with a 3-3-1
record.

Series History:
Harvard and Stony Brook have met one time, a 4-1 win for
the Crimson at Ohiri Field Sept. 4, 2009. In that game,
Austin Harms
'12 made six saves, while Andre Akpan '10 tallied two goals and
Desmond Mitchell '10 and Brian Rogers '13
netted a goal apiece.
The Crimson leads the all-time series against the Terriers
23-11-7, with the first game held in 1951. Harvard has won
two of the last three meetings, including a 1-0 decision last
season at home on Sept. 11. Jamie Rees '12 scored
the lone goal for the Crimson, while Harms earned the shutout with
a three-save performance.
About No. 21 Harvard:
The Crimson, which is ranked No. 21 in the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America/HendrickCars.com national
poll and 24th in the Soccer America rankings, is hoping to
find more offense after scoring only one goal in its last three
games. Rogers remains Harvard's leading scorer with two goals
and four points, while Zack Wolfenzon, Scott
Prozeller and Ross Freidman have tallied a goal each.
With two assists, Kyle Henderson
paces the team.
Harms, who has 14 shutouts in his career to rank second in school
history, boasts a 2-1-2 record with a 1.10 goals-against
average and 19 saves. Harvard has both scored and surrendered
six goals this fall. Opponents have an advantage in shots,
71-53, and in corner kicks, 23-11. Harvard is 1-0-2 in away
contests entering Friday night's game at Stony Brook.
About Stony Brook:
The Seawolves have won three straight games against
Dartmouth, 4-0, Central Connecticut State, 4-2, and Bryant,
2-1. With three goals and an assist, Leonardo Fernandes is
Stony Brook's scoring leader with seven points, while Mehdi
Belakehal (0-2-2) and Wilber Bonilla (1-2-4) are tied for the most
assists on the squad.
In the cage, Stefan Manz has won four games to go along with two
clean sheets, 24 saves and a 1.53 goals-against average.
Opponents are outscoring Stony Brook, 13-10, including 8-6 in the
second half, and have the edge in corner kicks, 38-31.
About Boston University:
The Terriers head into the weekend at 3-3-1, after
falling to Brown, 2-0, Sept. 19. Aaron O'Neal has carried the
BU offense, having scored four of the team's 10 goals, while Ben
Havey (2-2-6) ranks second with six points on the year. In
net, Brandon Briggs has shut out two opponents (Hartford, 3-0, and
Columbia, 2-0) and is 3-3-1 with a 1.44 goals-against mark and 22
saves.
BU has scored 10 goals, while allowing 10 tallies by its
opponents, but owns a large lead in shots, 120-87. In
addition, the Terriers have earned 46 corner kicks, compared to 35
by opponents, and are 0-2-0 against ranked teams, having lost to
then-No. 15 St. John's, 2-1, and then-No. 5 Boston College,
4-0.
