Harvard wrestling still has a few more weeks before they can
start team workouts in the wrestling room, so the David G. Bunning
'88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling Jay Weiss utilizes
several other facilities on campus to get his wrestlers ready for
the first day of practice.
Several days a week, the Crimson runs to the Harvard Athletic
Complex from the MAC and works out on McCurdy Track and in Harvard
Stadium. After a seven-minute sprint on the track, the wrestlers
run into the stadium to climb the steps. The grapplers either
sprint, crab walk, hop, wheel barrel or use a fireman carry to get
to the top of the stairs.
Two years ago, Harvard's unusual stadium workouts were the
feature of ESPN's Sweat Spot.
