Ivy League Standings
The Game:
Harvard looks to snap a two-game losing streak and opens Ivy League
play by hosting archrival Yale at Ohiri Field.
The Crimson owns a 1-1-0 record at home this season after defeating
then-No. 13 Stanford, 2-1, Sept. 4, and falling to Providence, 2-1,
Wednesday evening. Harvard heads into Ivy League play
with a 2-3-3 overall mark, while the Bulldogs own a 1-7-1 record in
their non-conference games this fall.

Last Time Out:
Jamie Rees scored a goal in the 47th minute, and Austin Harms
recorded two saves, but the Crimson dropped a non-conference
matchup to Providence Wednesday.
A History Lesson:
The Crimson and Bulldogs have played 96 times, with the series
beginning in 1907 with a 1-1 tie. Harvard leads the series,
50-36-10, and has won the last four games against Yale. Last
season, Harvard topped its archrival, 1-0, in double
overtime, as Brian Rogers scored the game-winner in the 103rd
minute to lift the Crimson to a win on Oct. 3, 2009.
Returning to Ohiri Field:
Today's game against Yale will be the first for Harvard on
Ohiri Field this season. Last fall, the Crimson boasted an
8-2-0 record on Ohiri Field.
About Harvard:
Brian Rogers, who assisted on the Crimson's goal against
Providence Wednesday, leads the squad in scoring with three goals
and seven points. Kyle Henderson (1-2-4), Jamie Rees (1-1-3),
Scott Prozeller (1-1-3), Zack Wolfenzon (1-0-2) and Ross Friedman
(1-0-2) have also found the back of the net this fall. Rogers
and Friedman are tied for the team lead with one game-winning tally
apiece.
Austin Harms has one shutout this season, giving him 14 in his
career, which ranks him second in school history. He boasts a 2-3-2
record with a 1.34 goals-agianst average and 23 saves. Harms also
stands sixth in program history with 115 saves.
Harvard has scored nine goals this season, compared to 11 by
opponents. In its two home games, Harvard and its opponents have
both tallied a total of three goals. The Crimson has also earned 24
corner kicks, while opponents have 35.
About Yale:
The Bulldogs have dropped two straight games, including a 2-1 loss
at home to No. 18 St. John's Tuesday. Yale owns an
0-2-1 record on the road.
Andy Hackbarth and Andy Shoren are tied for the team lead with two
goals and four points each. Hackbarth also tallied
Yale's lone game-winner this fall, coming in a 2-1 overtime
victory over Sacred Heart.
Bobby Thalman has started all nine games in goal and is 1-7-1 with
one clean sheet and a 1.47 goals-against average.
Defense Wins Games:
Harvard has allowed two goals or less in all eight of its games
this season. The Crimson has also surrendered one goal or
fewer in four contests. Harvard is 1-0-3 when it allowed one
goal or less.
Up Next:
The Crimson faces intrastate rival Holy Cross in a non-conference
matchup Wednesday, Oct. 6. Harvard then returns home to face
Cornell in the squad's second Ivy League game of the
year. That contest will be played at Ohiri Field Saturday,
Oct. 9.
