CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 1 Harvard
women's squash team downed No. 12 Bates Wednesday night in
perfect fashion. The Crimson won all nine matches over the Bobcats
by scores of 3-0 to improve to 6-0 this season. Harvard has yet to
lose an individual match this season, winning all six matches
9-0.
Captain Alisha Mashruwala turned in one of the most dominant
performances of the season playing her first match of the season in
the No. 2 spot. Mashruwala took the first set, 11-0, over Maura
Neal and then took the next two sets in identical 11-1 fashion.
Sarah Mumanachit, playing in the No. 4 spot, and Vidya Rajan,
competing in the No. 8 spot, each also grabbed victories that
included a shutout set. Mumanachit dropped Alison Bragg, 11-3,
11-3, 11-0, and Rajan downed Anna Hogeland, 11-3, 11-0, 11-7.
Nirashsa Guruge played her first match of the season at the No.
1 spot and captured an 11-4, 11-7, 11-2 win over Cheri-Ann
Parris.
Alexandra Zindman, playing in her first match of the season for
the Crimson, defeated Liza Dorison, 11-4, 11-3, 11-5, in the No. 9
spot.
Harvard will play its first match at home since the New Year on
Jan. 26 when it hosts No. 3 Trinity to the Barnaby Courts.
