Distance Corps Fights in Final Day at NCAA East Preliminaries

Kailyn Kuzmuk and Claire Richardson competed in the 5,000 Saturday at the NCAA East Preliminaries (Harvard Athletic Communications).

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –
The Harvard track and field team had its distance runners take the track in its final day of competition at the NCAA East Preliminaries Saturday at the University of Indiana. The Crimson had competitors in the men's and women's 5,000, as well as the men's discus qualifying.

Daniel Chenoweth led off the day placing eighth in his heat of the 5,000 with a time of 4:16.77, good for 19th overall in the competition. In the women's 5,000, Kailyn Kuzmuk posted a time of 17:16.70 to take 20th in the first heat. Edward Brucker capped the day for the Crimson with a distance of 47.62 (156'3") in the discus, good for 11th in the first flight of competitors.

Up next for Harvard, Brian Hill will compete in the NCAA Championships in the 800 June 8-11 in Des Moines, Iowa.
