The Particulars
A week removed from a stellar showing at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships, the Harvard track and field team will send student-athletes to the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. A total of 17 competitors (10 men, seven women) will make the trip across town for the competition.

A historic day for Harvard ended with the women's team claiming the Ivy League title, its first since 2000. The women's team produced four event champions between the two day competition and compiled a score of 117, its highest in program history at Heps. The women edged out Cornell, 117-112.66, and were one of just two teams to top the 100-point mark. The men's team recorded its best finish since its last Ivy title in 1985 with a third-place result. The Crimson men also yielded four event champions and totaled 86 points, its highest total since 1985.

Last Year's ECAC/IC4A Meet
The men placed sixth with a team score of 29, representing its best finish at the meet since 1981. The women's took tenth at ECACs, compiling 26.5 points over the two-day competition.
Andrew Ezekoye and Damani Wilson combined for three team points in the 60 meters, placing seventh and eighth, respectively, in the event finals. Darcy Wilson '12 posted a huge PR in the 800, taking second in the race in a time of 1:49.98, a personal-best by over two seconds, and the third-fastest mark in the event in program history. Connor Reck placed eighth in the event in 1:53.72, good for another team point for the Crimson.
The top performance at ECACs came from the women's distance medley relay. The quartet of Nicole Cochran '12, Erika Veidis, Meg Looney '12 and Kailyn Kuzmuk '12 shattered the school record in the event by more than six seconds and won the ECAC title by more than 10 seconds, posting a time of 11:27.55. Molly Renfer ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 500, recording a time of 1:14.14 to take eighth in the race.
