CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior squash player Amanda Sobhy was recently named to Squash Magazine's Top 50 Most Intriguing, Interesting and Influential people of 2014. Sobhy comes in at No. 2 on the list and is the only collegiate athlete featured.
Since arriving at Harvard, Sobhy has been nothing short of dominate. In her three seasons with the Crimson she has never lost a set, going 47-0, and has lost only one out of 142 games. She has also won the individual national title all three years and led Harvard to two team national titles.
On a global scale, Sobhy started her collegiate career ranked No. 21 in the world and now entering her senior season she has moved up to No. 10.
The Squash Magazine Top 50 is populated by a diverse group of people important to the squash world, from CEO's to bloggers. Of the 50 people named only five players were chosen, led by Sobhy at No. 2. The next player on the list is Julian Illingworth, a nine-time professional singles national title winner, coming in at No. 30. Of the five players named two were women, with Sobhy being joined by professional player Olivia Blatchford, No. 48 on the list.

The prominent squash blog, Squash Ezine, released a list of "Ten People Who Should be in Squash Magazine's Top 50". The list included the Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University Mike Way and former Harvard squash player Bill Kaplan.
