CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - No. 3 Harvard men's squash suffered its second-straight 5-4 defeat Saturday afternoon at the Murr Center Squash Courts, falling to No. 5 Rochester.
Harvard (2-3, 2-1 Ivy League) took an early 4-1 lead at the start of the match, but Rochester (5-1) fought back to tie it at 4-4 before Mario Yanez secured the victory for the Yellowjackets with a sweep at the No. 1 position.
The loss marks the second-straight season Harvard has dropped its two-game swing against St. Lawrence and Rochester.
Bryan Koh improved to 4-1 on the season with his third victory at the No. 3 position, edging Neil Cordell after rallying from being down 2-0 early in the match. Devin McLaughlin and Seif Eleinen continued to stay undefeated as McLaughlin earned a sweep at the No. 6 position and Eleinen picked up a 3-1 win at the No. 8 spot. Mandela Patrick rounded out the Crimson victories with a sweep at the No. 9 position.
Harvard will return to the courts Thursday as it hits the road for the first time since December to take on Trinity in a 4 p.m. matchup.
