Deng's Sunday 69 matched the Crimson's low round of the weekend (Gregory Carroccio).

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard men's golf team placed second at the Princeton Invitational over the weekend, edging out a crowded field atop the leaderboard.

Originally scheduled for 54 holes at the par-71 Springdale Golf Club, the tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to weather. Despite the difficult conditions, the Crimson turned in two solid rounds to finish the tournament at plus-9 (577), coming in one stroke ahead of Princeton (+10, 578), Yale (+10, 578), and Georgia Tech (+10, 578), and two strokes ahead of Columbia (+11, 579). No. 22 Duke won the team competition at minus-25 (543).

Senior captain Rohan Ramnath was Harvard's top finisher for the second-straight tournament at minus-3, with his total score of 139 matching the 10th-lowest 36-hole total in program history. Ramnath completed his first round at minus-2 (69) before shooting a minus-1 (70) to place fifth overall in the individual competition.

Robert Deng tied for 16th place at plus-2 (144). The junior rebounded from his opening-round 75 (+4) with a 69 (-2) on Sunday to move up the leaderboard.

Aurian Capart (+6, 148) and Gregory Royston (+6, 148) finished in a tie for 32nd place, while Kendrick Vinar (+7, 149) followed close behind. Harvard's total team score of 577 for the weekend was the 15th-lowest 36-hole total in program history.

Harvard will now turn its attention to the 2016 Ivy League Championships being hosted at Metedeconk National April 22-24. The Crimson has placed second at each of the last two conference championships, and is seeking its first Ivy title since 1974.
