NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The top-ranked Harvard men's squash team defeated No. 8 Dartmouth in the quarterfinal round of team nationals Friday, 7-2. The team will take on No. 4 Penn on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the semifinal round.
The Crimson were led by first-year Victor Crouin who defeated Carson Spahr, 11-5, 11-5, 11-6. Junior Timothy Brownell served as the team's No. 3, taking down Samuel Epley, 11-5, 11-6, 11-3. Sophomore Samuel Scherl added a win as the team's No. 4, defeating Reg Anderson, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6. Junior Saadeldin Abouaish wrapped up the top-five with a 11-7, 11-4, 11-6 win against Dartmouth's Reg Anderson.
Harvard Highlights:
- Junior Sean Hughes and sophomore Adam Corcoran added 3-0 victories in the quarterfinal match.
- Harvard extends its all-time series record against Dartmouth to 78-1.
- Abouaish moves to 9-0 on the season with his 3-0 victory.
- First-year George Crowne took down Tucker Martino in a marathon five-game match, 8-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5, 11-9.
