Men's Tennis Leads Nation with 10 ITA Scholar-Athlete Selections, Honored as ITA All-Academic Team

TEMPLE, Ariz. – For the 11th consecutive year, the Harvard men's tennis team has been named an ITA All-Academic Team, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association today, July 18.

To qualify for the ITA All-Academic Team, a program must maintain a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale, with each eligible player needing to compete in at least one varsity match.

Additionally, a nation-leading 10 individuals were named 2019 ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athletes for possessing a 3.5 or higher GPA this past academic year. Scholar-Athlete status is awarded to student-athletes who are varsity letterwinners, have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.

Across men's and women's college tennis, 940 All-Academic Teams and thousands of Scholar-Athletes earned the distinctions for 2019. Five out of eight Ivy League men's tennis programs earned ITA All-Academic honors, while the Crimson led the nation with its 10 Scholar-Athlete selections.
