ITHACA, N.Y. – After advancing to the ECAC Hockey Semifinals for the first time since 2015, the No. 10/10 Harvard women's hockey team (18-14-1, 15-6-1 ECAC Hockey) was defeated 4-0 by No. 1/1 Cornell (28-1-3, 19-0-3 ECAC Hockey) on Saturday afternoon at Lynah Rink. 

Five different players fired three shots on goal and Lindsay Reed made 21 saves through all 60 minutes of play. 

Cornell lit the lamp first at 10:48 of the opening frame when Kristin O'Neill redirected a pass in the slot. The Big Red doubled its lead at 18:48 on another quick shot from out front. With Harvard in the box for interference, Cornell scored on the power-play to take a 3-0 lead at 3:01 of the second. Towards the end of the middle frame, the Crimson picked up the pace and took a 21-15 lead in shots on goal as well as a 22-19 advantage in faceoff wins. 

Cornell scored its second power-play goal of the game at 1:53 of the third before Harvard held the Big Red scoreless through a five-minute penalty kill. The Crimson continued to swing through the rest of the frame, but was unable to break through the top team in the nation.
