CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The weekly awards for Harvard women's hockey keep piling up as today the program secured another weekly honor courtesy of
Kaley MacDonald. MacDonald earned the conference's Defender of the Week Award this morning after scoring the game-winning goal for the Crimson in its playoff game against St. Lawrence on Saturday (Feb. 21). The goal helped Harvard stun the Saints and advance into the quarterfinal round of the 2026 ECAC Championship.
A Walpole native, MacDonald earned her first career ECAC weekly honor after scoring the game-winning-goal in overtime against St. Lawrence in the 2026 ECAC Championship Opening Round. A junior defender, MacDonald also added an assist in the contest to log her second career multi-point game. The assist went down as the primary helper on the game-tying-goal by
Angelica Megdanis in the third period.
MacDonald has continued to be a leader on the defensive end for the Crimson in her junior campaign. She has collected eight points with three goals and five assists – in 31 games played this season while also leading the team in blocked shots with 70.
MacDonald and the Crimson will now move on to the ECAC Quarterfinals where they will compete against the Princeton Tigers in a best-of-three series at Hobey Baker Rink. The winner of the series will move on to the semifinal round which - for the first time in history – will be played at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y.
