CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 6/10 Harvard men's ice hockey (4-1-0, 3-0-0 ECAC Hockey) hits the road this weekend to take on ECAC Hockey foes Clarkson (4-4-1, 0-2-0 ECAC Hockey) and St. Lawrence (2-2-3, 1-0-1 ECAC Hockey) in the North Country of New York state. The Crimson has won its first three ECAC Hockey games of the season, defeating Dartmouth, Cornell, and Colgate, outscoring those three opponents by a combined score of 17-6. Harvard is 1-1 in road contests this season.

What to Know
• On Monday night at No. 17 Northeastern, junior defenseman
Henry Thrun scored a power play goal, but in a tightly played contest, No. 6/10 Harvard men's ice hockey (4-1-0, 3-0-0 ECAC Hockey) fell 2-1 in overtime at Northeastern (8-4-0, 4-2-0 Hockey East).The Huskies' Gunnarwolfe Fontaine won it at :25 of the 3-on-3 overtime period on a breakaway. Harvard outshot Northeastern 21-17 for the night and carried the play at times but could not maintain its one-goal lead.
• Friday's game marks the 120th meeting between Harvard and Clarkson in men's ice hockey with Harvard owning a 59-58-12 edge in the series. Harvard won for the first time at Cheel Arena since 2016 in a 5-2 win over then-ranked No. 5 Clarkson on Feb. 21, 2020.
• Saturday's game marks the 108th meeting between Harvard and St. Lawrence with the Crimson owning a 65-45-7 edge in the series.
• Harvard and St. Lawrence last met on March 7, 2020, the Crimson's final game of the 2019-20 season, when harvard defeated the Saints 7-1 to clinch an ECAC Hockey First Round series win.
• Harvard adds 14 first-years and sophomores into the fold after a year away from competition, a group that includes seven NHL draft picks. Within that group are Harvard's top three goal scorers so far this season in Sean Farrell (5-5-10), Alex Laferriere (5-1-6), and Matthew Coronato (3-4-7), four regular defensemen in Ian Moore (2 assists, +6), Jack Bar (5 GP), Kyle Aucoin (5 GP), and John Fusco (3 GP) and goaltender Derek Mullahy (1-0-0, 2.39, .909).
At the Helm
Following success as a player, Harvard head coach Ted Donato has compiled a long list of accomplishments as head coach of the Crimson. The former Harvard captain has guided Harvard to four ECAC Hockey titles and three Ivy League championships, claimed six NCAA Tournament berths, coached 13 All-Americans and 17 National Hockey Leaguers. Donato, who won an NCAA Championship as a Harvard player in 1989 and enjoyed a 13-year NHL career, has represented Team USA at the World Junior Championships, multiple World Championships, and was the leading scorer of the 1992 Olympic Team in Albertville, France.
