What to Know
  • The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, Katey Stone, is just one win away from her 500th career victory. She would be the first female coach and the fourth of a women's program to reach the milestone. Just 24 coaches across all NCAA men's and women's programs have hit the milestone with a single team.
  • Friday's meeting against Yale will mark the first matchup between the two teams since their epic triple-overtime battle in the 2019-20 ECAC Hockey Tournament quarterfinals. Senior forward, Becca Gilmore netted the game-winner that afternoon, sending the Crimson past the Bulldogs, 4-3, and into the semifinals.
  • The Crimson enters Saturday's matchup against Brown having lost just once to the Bears in the last 39 meetings between the schools.
  • Gilmore scored two goals this Tuesday in Harvard's victory over Boston College, giving her a team-leading total of six goals on the season. The senior has now scored twice in three separate games this year.
  • Harvard has earned at least one point in each of its first seven games of the season. It is the longest such streak for the program to begin a season since 2007-08, when the team won its first 13 contests and would go on to reach the Frozen Four.
At the Helm:
Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, is in her 27th year at the helm of the women's hockey program. Prior to the 2021-22 season, Stone compiled a 494-253-54 record. During Summer 2021, Stone was named the recipient of USA Hockey's Distinguished Achievement Award, recognizing a U.S. citizen who has made hockey his or her profession, and has made outstanding contributions, on or off the ice, to the sport in America. No stranger to trailblazing in the sport, Stone was the first woman to be recognized for the award. Through her tenure at Harvard, Stone has coached six Patty Kazmaier Award winners, 24 All America selections, 13 Olympians and 11 NWHL/CWHL Draft picks. Her teams have won 11 Beanpot championships, seven ECAC Tournament titles and have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 11 times.
