Men’s Squash Hosts Brown for Home Opener

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 2 Harvard (1-1, 0-0 Ivy) men's squash returns to the Murr Center for its first home contest since the 2019-20 CSA Team National Championships, as the Crimson prepares to face Brown (0-0) on Tuesday afternoon. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Courts 1-5 will be streamed on ESPN+. 
 
Harvard opened the 2021-22 campaign with a 9-0 win over No. 10 Rochester on Sunday (Nov. 14), losing just one game total in the victory. 
 
Tuesday's meeting will be the Crimson's first against Brown since the Bears program transitioned to a club sport following the 2019-20 season.

What to Know:  
  • Tuesday's matchup will be the 31st meeting all time between Harvard and Brown. The Crimson leads the series, 30-0. 
  • Harvard comes in at No. 2 in the 2021-2022 Preseason Men's College Squash Team Rankings, behind only Penn. 
  • The Crimson has won the last two CSA National Championships and owns a 34-match active win streak entering Tuesday's match. The team's last loss came against Trinity in the 2017-18 CSA Team Championship Final. 
  • Marwan Tarek and Samuel Scherl serve as the captains this year for the Crimson.

Mike Way begins his 12th season as the Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University. Entering the 2021-22 season, Way boasts an overall record of 135-29 during his time with the men's program at Harvard. 
 
Up Next: The Crimson will make the short trip to MIT to take on the Engineers at 5 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 17).
