CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard Women's fencing team won its 14
th consecutive Beanpot Wednesday night, Nov. 17, at the Malkin Athletic Center in Cambridge.
The Crimson left no doubt, winning three-straight matches to secure the trophy for another year.
Harvard started the night with a 22-5 victory over Boston College, and then continued its success against Brandeis, earning a 21-6 victory. The Crimson finished off the night with a 19-8 victory over MIT.
The Crimson Foil could not be stopped, going just about perfect on the night with a 26-1 record. Five Crimson Foils did not lose a bout throughout the three matches.
The Epee posted a 21-6 record with
Greta Candreva winning all nine of her matches and
Claire Beddingfield finishing with an 8-1 record.
The Crimson Sabres tallied a 16-11 record in the three matches, with great showings from
Elizabeth Tartakovsky (7-2),
Veronica Czyzewski (6-3) and
Maria Theodore (5-3).
Next Up:
The Crimson will travel to Fairfield, Conn., for a matchup with Sacred Heart on Dec. 5.
