Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Despite four players recording double-digit points, the Harvard women's basketball team (1-3, 0-0 Ivy League) fell to Rutgers (4-1, 0-0 Big Ten) in overtime, 65-68, tonight, Nov. 19, at Jersey Mike's Arena.

Tess Sussman (10) all contributed to Harvard's strong offense against the Scarlet Knights as well. Co-captains
Annie Stritzel and Sussman led Harvard in the defensive zone, each posting eight rebounds.
After exchanging baskets to open the game, Harvard pulled away with an 8-4 lead after back-to-back baskets from McCarthy. The Crimson and Scarlet Knights continued to trade buckets throughout the first quarter, before
Maddie Stuhlreyer laid in four points to give us a 16-15 edge.
The Crimson came out of the gates in quarter two on a 4-0 run, with two baskets from Sussman and a triple from McCarthy. Rutgers responded with three straight, before
Harmoni Turner, Mullaney and Sussman each scored to push us ahead 31-26 heading into halftime.
Harvard began the second half enjoying another 3-0 run, backed by two buckets from Mullaney and Sussman. Another 4-1 run highlighted by triples from Mullaney and McCarthy pushed the Crimson's advantage to 13 points at 47-34. Harvard kept the foot on the gas, sinking two more three-pointers to take a 52-34 lead into the final frame.
Rutgers scored the first 15 points of quarter four to cut its deficit to 52-49.
McKenzie Forbes stopped the Scarlet Knight's run, draining a triple from the corner midway through the frame. McCarthy laid in two more baskets to help Harvard maintain its lead. However, the Scarlet Knights hit a triple with nine seconds remaining to tie the game at 59-59 and force overtime.
Rutgers took the lead in overtime with five opening baskets, before Forbes hit a pair from the free throw line to bring Harvard within three at 66-63. Mullaney fed Sussman in the paint for another basket to cut our deficit to one point with 30 seconds remaining. However, Rutgers put away two free throws down the stretch, holding on to clinch a 68-65 victory.
