Coronato, Moore Selected for U.S. World Junior Preliminary Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – First-year forward Matthew Coronato and first-year defenseman Ian Moore were among 31 players named to the preliminary roster of its 2022 U.S. National Junior Team, USA Hockey announced today (Nov. 30).
 
Coronato and Moore will head to Plymouth, Michigan for a four-day training camp at USA Hockey Arena from Dec. 12-15, where the final 25-player roster will be selected for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship in Alberta (Dec. 26, 2021-Jan. 5, 2022).
 
Ted Donato, The Robert D. Ziff '88 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice Hockey, will serve as an assistant coach on the U.S. team for the second straight year. Donato was part of Nate Leaman's coaching staff in 2020 that helped the U.S. win gold for the fifth time in tournament history. Current juniors Henry Thrun and John Farinacci were also members of the gold-medal winning team.
 
Harvard has had 27 players suit up for three different countries since the first IIHF World Junior Championship in 1977.
