CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Returning to the court for the first time since March 7, 2020, the Harvard women's basketball team will open its 2021-22 campaign on the road at Boston College on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. with the contest broadcast on the ACC Network.

- Harvard will face Boston College for the 18th time in program history on Tuesday. The Crimson and Eagles last squared off in 2011, with Harvard facing a closely contested 78-70 loss at BC.
- The Crimson returns three of its top five leading scorers from the 2019-20 season, including
Lola Mullaney (14.7 ppg),
Tess Sussman (7.7 ppg) and
Maggie McCarthy (7.6 ppg). Mullaney led Harvard in points per game last season, averaging 14.7 to consistently top the Crimson line up.

Annie Stritzel will lead the Crimson as captains for the 2021-22 season. Sussman and Stritzel will provide a veteran presence on the floor this season, both averaging above 13 minutes per game in 2019-20.
- Nine Harvard student-athletes will put on a Crimson uniform for the first time in their career this season. A total of four sophomores and five first-years join a group of eight returning letterwinners featuring two seniors and six juniors.
- The Ivy League men's and women's basketball tournaments will be held at Lavietes Pavilion this year, where they will take place Friday-Sunday, March 11-13, 2022. The top four teams will earn berths to the tournament, with the women's semifinals on Friday and the championships on Saturday.

Kathy Delaney-Smith returns for her 40th season at the helm of the program. The winningest coach in Ivy League basketball history with 617 career victories, Delaney-Smith passed former Princeton head coach Pete Carril (514) for most wins by an Ancient Eight coach on either the men's or women's side during the 2013-14 season. Delaney-Smith owns a 617-420 overall record with a 360-159 mark in Ivy League play, including 12 20-win seasons, 11 Ivy titles and 15 postseason appearances.

Harvard will travel to the University of Massachusetts this Friday, Nov. 12 for a 5 p.m. match up. The Crimson will then return to Cambridge for its home opener against Northern Illinois on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. The contest will also be broadcast on ESPN+.
