Women’s Hockey Coaching Staff, Alumnae to be Featured at USA Hockey Women’s Leadership Summit

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Harvard women's hockey coaching staff, as well as distinguished graduates Julie Chu '07 and Angela Ruggiero '04, will be speakers at USA Hockey's Women's Leadership Summit on Feb. 19 and 26, 2021. The event, titled "Game On: Empowering Women in Hockey", will feature a number of sessions aimed at providing current and future female leaders tangible tools and enhance the leadership development efforts of female volunteers.
 
Participants will be exposed to a combination of speakers and breakout sessions led by experts on inclusion, confidence, building trust, connecting with your community, and growing the game.
 
Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, as well as Associate Head Coach Lee-J Mirasolo and Assistant Coach Sydney Daniels will lead a session titled "Coaching Empowerment" along with the coaching staff from the University of Minnesota and WeCoach Director of Membership, Marci Kornegay.
 
In the first portion of the conference, Patty Kazmaier Award winner Julie Chu '07 will moderate a panel discussion on Marketing Girls and Women's Hockey.
 
On the back end, shortly before the current coaching staff takes the floor, Harvard Hall of Famer and fellow Patty Kazmaier winner Angela Ruggiero '04 will co-lead a conversation on building foundations for leadership with Olympian Cammi Granato.
 
After its inaugural conference took place in Anaheim, Calif. in early February 2020, the event has gone virtual this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
