COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Harvard women's hockey junior
Dominique Petrie has been named to USA Hockey's U.S. Women's National Team Evaluation Camp roster. Just 46 athletes were invited to attend the camp which will run from March 24-30 in Blaine, Minn. at the National Sports Center.
The camp is part of the process in selecting the U.S. Women's National Team that will compete in the 2021 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship May 6-16, in Halifax and Truro, Nova Scotia.
"We're excited to have this group of players together in Blaine," said Katie Million, director of women's national team programs for USA Hockey. "This camp is an important part of our overall evaluation and preparation for the upcoming world championship and we look forward to the chance to compete for a gold medal in May."
The 46 invited players, of which 17 are Olympians, includes 26 forwards, 16 defenders, and four goaltenders. A total of 16 players were part of the gold medal-winning 2019 U.S. Women's National Team, 15 were members of the 2018 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic Team, and 24 are current collegiate athletes.
Petrie finished the 2019-20 season leading the Crimson with 23 assists and ranking second in points (35) and power-play points (9). She was one of just four ECAC Hockey players to notch a hat trick during the season and earned Second Team All-ECAC Hockey and Second Team All-Ivy recognition.
