Petrie to Contend for Spot on 2022 U.S. Olympic Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Harvard women's hockey rising senior, Dominique Petrie, has been selected as one of the top-40 players in the nation to attend USA Hockey's 2021 U.S. Women's National Team Selection Camp.

Taking place from June 1-6 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. 24 forwards, 12 defenders and four goalies will be evaluated for a 28-member residency program slated for October to begin preparing for the 2022 Olympic Games.

"This summer brings a lot of excitement as we're less than a year out from the 2022 Winter Olympics," said Katie Million, director of women's national team programs for USA Hockey. "Our selection camp will help us make the tough choices of naming the player pool for residency and from there we'll turn our attention to the women's world championship later this summer."

The camp features 19 current collegiate athletes from ECAC Hockey, The Hockey East Association and WCHA. Petrie is the only representative from 12-member ECAC Hockey. Petrie finished the 2019-20 season leading the Crimson with 23 assists and ranking second in points (35) and power-play points (9). She was one of just four ECAC Hockey players to notch a hat trick during the season and earned Second Team All-ECAC Hockey and Second Team All-Ivy recognition.

The U.S. is the defending Olympic gold medalist and has won gold in eight of the last nine IIHF Women's World Championships.

USA Hockey expects to announce the players chosen for residency in late June and from that pool of players, 25 will be chosen to represent the U.S. at the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship, scheduled for August 20-31 in Canada.
