Andrew Rueb '95, has announced senior
Brian Shi and junior
Steven Sun as captains for the 2021-2022 season.
"We are so excited to have Brian and Steven leading the charge this year. They will be great captains and excellent role models. They have proven their ability to skillfully manage their time and commitments. And they are both excellent on-court competitors."
A native of Jericho, N.Y., Shi has had a successful career so far at Harvard. The economics concentrator posted a 6-3 singles mark and a 5-4 doubles record in a shortened 2019-20 season. Shi also received All-Ivy Second Team honors for singles and doubles in the 2018-19 season, and was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete as well as to the All-Ivy Academic Team in 2021. This will be Shi's first year as captain.
Originally from Glencove, N.Y., Sun notched a 5-1 singles record and a 6-1 doubles record in the shortened 2019-2020 season. Additionally, the economics concentrator posted an impressive mark of 13 consecutive wins to start off the spring singles slate of the 2018-19 season. This will be Sun's first year as captain.
