Wrestling Announces 2021-22 Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University wrestling will compete in high-level tournaments across the country and take on a challenging slate of EIWA opponents during the dual season in preparation for the EIWA and NCAA Championships in March as part of its 2021-22 schedule, The David G. Bunning '88 Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling Jay Weiss announced on Tuesday.
 
The Crimson's schedule includes elite competitions across the Northeast, Midwest, and West during the tournament portion of the schedule before the team turns its focus to a dual schedule that will feature ranked teams and individuals. Following the regular season, the team will compete at the EIWA Championships from Mar. 5-6 and look to send wrestlers to the NCAA Championships from Mar. 17-19.
 
Harvard opens its season with the Journeymen Classic on Nov. 14 as the team will compete for the first time since Mar. 7, 2020 – a span of 617 days. The program concludes the month of November at the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia on Nov. 21.
 
The Crimson closes out the calendar year at a pair of premier events, taking part in the Cliff Keen Invitational from Dec. 3-4 in Las Vegas, Nev., before heading to the Midlands Championships from Dec. 29-30 in Evanston, Ill. Harvard will compete at the F&M Open on Jan. 7 in its final competition before its dual season.
 
Opening dual competition, the Crimson will host Bucknell (Jan. 14) and Sacred Heart (Jan. 15) at the Malkin Athletic Center. The matchup with the Bison will mark the program's first home competition since Feb. 1, 2020 – a span of 713 days.
 
Following its Ivy League opener at Cornell (Jan. 22), Harvard returns home to host a pair of Ivy foes in Princeton (Jan. 28) and Penn (Jan. 29). The Crimson then heads out for a three-dual road trip with matches at Columbia (Feb. 11), Hofstra (Feb. 12), and Brown (Feb. 17). The program concludes the regular season with a home dual against Binghamton (Feb. 19).
 
Looking towards the postseason, the 2022 EIWA Championships are set for Ithaca, N.Y., from Mar. 5-6, and the 2022 NCAA Championships are slated for Detroit, Mich., from Mar. 17-19.
