"This is my lifelong dream," Moy said. "I still have trouble processing it. I'm super thankful for my family and my coaches here and everyone who has helped me along the way."
Although the Moy family resides in San Diego, Calif., Moy's mother hails from Lucerne, Switzerland and her daughter obtained Swiss citizenship just before her 18th birthday.
Moy's brother, Tyler Moy, played on the men's ice hockey team at Harvard and graduated in 2017. He was drafted by the Nashville Predators with the 175th pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and currently plays for Genéve-Servette in the National League in Switzerland.

During her time in Cambridge, Moy has recorded 30 goals, six of which were game winners, as well as 25 assists. The Olympics will mark her third stint with the Swiss national team overall.
"International hockey is a bit of a different game, Moy said. "It's an Olympic sheet of ice and obviously the speed is so quick. It's the best players in the world."
The 2022 Winter Olympics will be held Feb. 4-20 in Beijing, China. The women's ice hockey event begins on Feb. 3 and features 10 teams divided into two pools of five. Switzerland is in Group A alongside Canada, Finland, Russian Olympic Committee and United States.
