NEW YORK, N.Y. -Â Building on their dominant season, the Harvard Men's and Women's Track & Field teams commanded today's Lions Indoor Invitational. Competing at the Armory Track in New York City, the Crimson came out on top in 12 events, winning the Men's 500m, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put and Weight Throw, and the Women's 60m, 60m Hurdles, 200m, 500m, Pole Vault, Shot Put and Weight Throw.Â

With another record setting day, the men's team put up superb results. In the 500m, First-Year
Peter Diebold squeaked out a first place finish over Ivy League Competition, posting a winning time of 1:04.44, beating out the second place Columbia runner by just 0.3 seconds. In jumps, Sophomore
Chet Ellis solidified a winning mark in the High Jump by clearing the 2.00m bar. In the Pole Vault, Harvard secured a 1-2 placement, with sophomore
Simon Park ultimately winning out after clearing the 5.00m (16'4.9") bar. Moving over to throws, Sophomore
Alexander Kolesnikoff ran away with the competition in Shot Put, posting his winning mark of 18.43m (60'5.6") on his fifth throw, a distance that beat out second place by over two meters. Finally, in the Weight Throw, First-Year
Kenneth Ikeji continued his reign of dominance, not only securing victory for the Crimson with his 20.38m (66'10.4") mark, but breaking his own Harvard school record, one that he had just set last weekend in the Beantown Challenge.Â

Asserting their own dominance over the meet, the women's team tallied a set of impressive results. In the 60m, Junior
Tina Martin once again cemented her chokehold on the event, securing the win with a blazing time of 7.49 seconds. Not satisfied with just one crown on the day, Martin went on to lead a 1-2-3-4 Harvard sweep of the 200m, winning the event with a time of 23.90 seconds, the second fastest finish in Harvard school history. Capturing both first and second for Harvard in the 60m Hurdles, Junior
Jada Jones beat out teammate and 60mH Beantown Challenge Champion First-Year
Izzy Goudros with a time of 8.59 seconds. In the 500m,
Victoria Bossong secured the win for the Crimson with a time of 1:14.63, outrunning three Columbia runners who finished second, third, and fourth. Shifting over to field events, the Crimson women finished first and second in the pole vault, with Junior Alana Caroll taking the win after clearing the 3.65m (11'11.7") bar. With another 1-2 finish this time in the Shot Put, Sophomore
Sarah Omoregie secured the win for Harvard with her 14.72m (48'3.5") mark. In the weight throw, the Crimson finished 1-2-3, with sophomore
Cammy Garabian taking top spot with her mark of 17.91m (58'9.1").

Harvard Highlights
- Ikeji's winning mark in the weight throw is currently ranked 12th best in the nation for DI.
- While Ikeji's mark is impressive in and of itself, it becomes even more so considering that he beat out second place by nearly four meters.Â
- The only person with a faster time than Tina Martin in the 200m in Harvard history is Olympic medal winner Gabby Thomas '19.
- Kolesnikoff shattered his previous Harvard best of 17.71m with his 18.43m throw.
