CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – Playing on its home courts for the first time in 52 days, No. 1 Harvard (7-0, 5-0 Ivy) took down No. 5 Columbia (5-3, 2-1 Ivy) by a score of 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Murr Center. With the victory, the program extends its CSA-record win streak to 90 matches.
Harvard won eight of the day's nine matches. Senior Amina Yousry made quick work playing in the third position, losing just 12 points in a victory over Columbia's Erica McGillicuddy to put the day's first point on the board.
The next three matches all went in favor of the home team as well, before Columbia picked up a win at the second position to bring the score to 4-1. Soon after, junior Evie Coxon sealed the match for the Crimson with her triumph at No. 6 to secure the clinching fifth point.
