CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University women's swimming and diving begins the 2022 calendar year and returns to competition when it hosts Brown University on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 11:00 a.m. (ESPN+) at Blodgett Pool, as the Crimson competes at home for the first time since Jan. 15, 2020 – a span of 720 days.
In response to the rise of COVID-19 in the broader Harvard community, the Harvard Athletics Department is
limiting spectators at its home athletics events through Jan. 23, 2022.

What to Know
- Harvard competes at home at Blodgett Pool for the first time since hosting Brown on Jan. 15, 2020 – a span of 720 days.
- The Crimson returns to competition in 2021-22 for the first time since taking part in the Minnesota Invitational from Dec. 1-4.
- Thus far in its dual meet schedule, Harvard has posted a 4-0 overall record and a 3-0 Ivy League mark. The Crimson opened the year with a 170-129 win over Rutgers in non-conference action. Harvard then topped three straight Ivy opponents with victories over Columbia (179.5-115.5), Dartmouth (192-107), and Cornell (213-87).
- Competing against No. 2 Texas, No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 California, No. 17 Wisconsin, Arizona, and Minnesota at the 2021 Minnesota Invitational from Dec. 1-4, the Crimson totaled six NCAA B cut times. Senior Felicia Pasadyn reached the mark in three events (400 IM, 200 back, 200 fly), first-year Abby Carr hit the mark in two events (100 fly, 200 fly), and first-year Erin Cavanagh posted an NCAA B cut time in the 400 IM.
- Senior Felicia Pasadyn holds the top time in the Ivy League in the 200 backstroke (1:54.97, NCAA B cut), 200 butterfly (1:56.49, NCAA B cut), and 200 individual medley (2:00.20). She also stands second in the 400 IM (4:13.82, NCAA B cut) and third in the 200 freestyle (1:47.38).
- First-year Aleksandra Denisenko carries the top time in the conference in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.31) while first-year Erin Cavanagh paces the league in the 400 IM (4:13.69, NCAA B cut). Cavanagh ranks second in the 500 freestyle (4:47.98) and third in the 200 backstroke (1:58.23). Denisenko stands third in the 100 breast (1:02.54).
- First-year Abby Carr ranks second in the Ancient Eight with NCAA B cut times in both the 100 butterfly (53.00) and 200 butterfly (1:58.61). She also stands third in the 100 backstroke (54.65).
- Sophomore Kate Hazlett ranks second in the Ivy League in the 200 back (1:57.75) and fourth in the 400 IM (4:17.49). In the 100 back, first-year Molly Hamlin stands second in the conference with a 54.43.
- First-year Mandy Brenner stands fourth in the Ancient Eight in the 50 freestyle (22.91), and sophomore Addie Rose Bullock ranks fourth in the 200 free (1:48.42)
- Junior Marcella Ruppert-Gomez stands sixth in the league in the 1650 freestyle (16:56.38) and 10th in the 1000 free (10:11.87).
- On the boards, first-year Amy Wotovich has posted the team's top score in 1-meter diving with a 284.70 while senior Esther Lawrence has tallied the Crimson's best score in 3-meter diving with a 305.10.
- In its last Ivy competition from Nov. 13, Harvard topped Cornell University, 213-87, and Dartmouth College, 192-107, in an Ivy League tri meet at Ithaca College's Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium. The Crimson tallied 12 event wins, 10 second-place showings, and eight third-place finishes.
- In its Ivy League opener on Nov. 6, Harvard beat Columbia University, 179.5-115.5, at Percy Uris Natatorium. The Crimson posted 12 event victories, nine second-place showings, and seven third-place finishes.
- The Crimson began its 2021-22 season with a 170-129 victory over Big Ten member Rutgers University in its season opener in its first competition in over 600 days. Harvard totaled eight victories, 13 second-place showings, and 11 third-place finishes to beat the host Scarlet Knights.
- Over the season's first three meets, Harvard totaled 32 wins, 32 second-place showings, and 26 third-place finishes.

Stephanie Wriede Morawski '92 is in her 25th year as the The Costin Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Swimming & Diving in the 2021-22 season. Under Morawski's direction, the Crimson have captured six Ivy League championships, including four (2014, 2016, 2018, 2019) since 2014. Morawski has earned Ivy League Coach of the Year honors in each of the last three seasons (2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20).
