NEW HAVEN, Conn. – No. 22 Harvard University men's swimming and diving defeated Yale University, 248.5-104.5, and Princeton University, 228-125, on Sunday, capturing its 30
th Ivy League dual meet title in program history and fifth straight.
Competing on the second and final day of the Harvard-Yale-Princeton meet at the Bulldogs' Kiphuth Exhibition Pool, the Crimson (8-1, 7-0 Ivy) completed an undefeated Ivy League dual meet season – going unbeaten in Ivy dual competition for the fifth straight year and 26
th time in program history – with its victories over the host Bulldogs (4-4, 3-4 Ivy) and the Tigers (7-1, 6-1 Ivy).
On day two, the Crimson tallied six event wins, seven NCAA B cut swims, five pool records, five second-place finishes, and one third-place finish. Under
Kevin Tyrrell, The Ulen-Brooks Endowed Coach for Harvard Men's Swimming & Diving – who took over as the program's leader in 2013-14 – the Crimson has posted seven undefeated Ivy dual meet seasons and won seven dual meet titles.

Over the course of the weekend, Harvard totaled 13 event wins, 19 NCAA B cut swims, nine pool records, 10 second-place finishes, and six third-place showings. On day one, the Crimson notched seven wins, 12 NCAA B cut swims, four pool records, five second-place finishes, and five third-place finishes.
Harvard Highlights
- First-year Adam Wesson won 3-meter diving with a score of 369.65, eclipsing the NCAA standard of 320.
- Senior Mahlon Reihman won the 100-yard freestyle with an NCAA B cut time of 43.60 for a pool record. He bested the NCAA B standard of 43.80.
- Sophomore Will Grant claimed first in the 200-yard backstroke with an NCAA B cut time of 1:42.56 for a season best and pool record while first-year Anthony Rincon followed in second place with an NCAA B cut time of 1:44.13 for a season best. Both swimmers topped the NCAA B standard of 1:45.04.
- Senior Dean Farris took the 100-yard butterfly with an NCAA B cut time of 46.30 for a pool record, and junior Umitcan Gures placed second with an NCAA B cut time of 46.33, just 0.03 seconds behind Farris. Both swimmers beat the NCAA B standard of 47.43.
- Harvard captured the 200-yard medley relay with a pool record time of 1:25.26 from the group of senior Dean Farris, junior Jared Simpson, junior Umitcan Gures, and senior Raphael Marcoux.
- Harvard closed the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay behind a pool record time of 2:52.76 from the quartet of junior Ryan Linnihan, sophomore Marcus Holmquist, senior Mahlon Reihman, and senior Dean Farris.
- In the 500-yard freestyle, sophomore Cole Kuster finished second with an NCAA B cut time of 4:22.97 for a season best, eclipsing the NCAA B mark of 4:23.34. First-year Shane Washart came in third in 4:24.56.
- In the 200-yard breaststroke, junior Jared Simpson placed second with an NCAA B cut time of 1:56.91, topping the NCAA B standard of 1:58.43.
- Senior Michael Zarian placed second in the 400-yard individual medley with a season-best time of 3:53.44.
- Harvard won its 30th Ivy League dual meet title in program history. The Crimson captured its fifth straight dual meet crown and has won the title in eight of the last nine years.
- The Crimson posted an undefeated Ivy League/EISL dual meet season for the 26th time in program history and for the fifth straight season.
- Under Kevin Tyrrell – since 2013-14 – the program has posted seven undefeated Ivy dual meet seasons and has tallied a 53-1 Ivy dual meet mark. The team has won seven Ivy dual meet titles, including five straight.
- Harvard improved to 44-38 all-time vs. Princeton and 48-39 all-time vs. Yale.
