No. 1 Women’s Squash Captures Sixth-Straight Ivy League Title, Bests No. 4 Yale, 7-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the sixth year in a row, No. 1 Harvard (11-0, 6-0 Ivy) is Ivy League champions. The Crimson sealed the title with a 7-2 win over No. 4 Yale (6-3, 3-3 Ivy) on Sunday (Jan. 30) at the Murr Center Squash Courts, completing a 6-0 season in league play. 
 
The win was the 93rd consecutive CSA victory for Harvard, and the program's 45th-straight in the Ivy League. 
 
Harvard opened the day by taking all three of the first wave matches. Serena Daniel (No. 4), Hana Moataz (No. 1) and Binney Huffman (No. 9) all posted 3-0 victories to build an early advantage for the home team. 
 
The Bulldogs crawled back during the match's middle section with wins at the sixth and seventh positions, while Habiba Eldafrawy earned Harvard's fourth point at number two. With the Crimson leading 4-2, Brecon Welch (No. 8) clinched the match, and Ivy League crown, with a decisive 3-0 performance. 
 
Marina Stefanoni (No. 2) and Evie Coxon (No. 5) added a pair of wins to bring the final tally to 7-2 for Harvard.

  • The win clinches Harvard's sixth straight Ivy League title. The Crimson went 6-0 in Ivy play this year and have won 45 consecutive matches within the league. 
  • Harvard has now won 93 CSA matches in a row, a women's record. 
  • Harvard is 4-0 vs. top-five opponents this year. 
  • Binney Huffman dropped just 17 points in her 3-0 victory over Nina Mital. 
  • The Crimson outscored the Bulldogs 22-8 in games. 
  • Habiba Eldafrawy improves to 10-0 individually while Serena Daniel moves to 9-0. 
  • Harvard is now 44-15 all-time vs. Yale and has won 12 straight over the Bulldogs.
