CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -Â Kicking off 2022, the Harvard Men's and Women's Track & Field Teams will host the Harvard Multi & Beantown Challenge this Friday, Jan. 7-Saturday, Jan. 8. Joining the Crimson at Gordon Track will be: Brown, UConn, UMass Amherst, UMass Lowell, Boston College and Stonehill.Â

The meet will feature: Women's Pentathlon, Men's Heptathlon, Men's and Women's Shot Put, Men's and Women's Weight Throw, Men's and Women's Long Jump, Men's and Women's Triple Jump, Men's and Women's Pole Vault, Men's and Women's High Jump, Men's and Women's 60m Hurdles, Men's and Women's 60m, Men's and Women's One Mile Run, Men's and Women's 1000m, Men's and Women's 500m, Men's and Women's 3k, Men's and Women's 200m, Men's and Women's 2 Mile Relay and Men's and Women's 1 Mile Relay.Â

Spectators from visiting schools will not be able to attend the event in person, and Harvard guests will only be able to access it via a pass list. However, the meet will be broadcast on ESPN+.

What To Know:
- This is the first meet of 2022 for the men's and women's track and field teams, their second of the indoor season.
- Harvard is coming off of an excellent season opener in the Ivy & HBCU Challenge, where the Crimson came out on top in 11 events: Women's 60m, 600m, 1000m, Mile Relay, Pole Vault, Triple Jump and Shot Put, and Men's Shot Put, 300m, Pole Vault and Weight Throw. Both Crimson teams finished the meet 1st overall, with the women posting 155 points and the men 113 points.Â
- The last time Harvard hosted the Multi/Beantown Challenge Meet back in January of 2020, the Harvard women finished 1st, while the men finished 2nd.
