Women’s Basketball Wraps Up Road Swing at Brown and Yale

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Concluding its eight-game road swing this weekend, the Harvard women's basketball team will travel to Brown and Yale, Jan. 7-8. Tip-off against the Bears is slated for Friday at 6 p.m., while the Crimson will take on the Bulldogs on Saturday at 4 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+, while Saturday's game against Yale will also air on NESN.

Saturday's game at Yale will be closed to the public.
 
What to Know
- Harvard kicked off Ivy League action on the road at Princeton last week, falling to the Tigers, 68-50. The Crimson is 3-1 in its last four contests with a 6-7 overall record.
- First-year Harmoni Turner led the Crimson's offense against Princeton on Sunday with 20 points. Junior McKenzie Forbes and sophomore Lola Mullaney netted double-digit points as well, with 14 and 10, respectively. Turner notched her second career double-double, posting a team-best 11 rebounds on the defensive end. Senior Tess Sussman added six boards, while Mullaney grabbed five.
- For the third-straight week, Harmoni Turner was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Jan. 3. Turner now has three Rookie of the Week honors under her belt, as well as one conference Player of the Week accolade in her first season with the Crimson. The first-year guard recorded 20 or more points in back-to-back games last week, now notching double-digit points in 10 games this season, including eight-straight.
- The Crimson ranks 25th in the nation in three-point field goals made per game with 8.8 and places 17th with 115 total. Harvard ranks first in the Ivy League in three-point percentage with .351. Shooting with efficiency against Merrimack on Nov. 30, Harvard registered its highest three-point percentage of the season at 60.7 percent. Harvard tallied 17 three-pointers, its highest mark of the season.
- After one week of conference play, four Crimson players rank in the top-25 in scoring and rebounding in the Ivy League. Turner leads the way in fourth with 14.8 points per game, followed by Lola Mullaney (12.8 p/g, ninth), McKenzie Forbes (12.5 p/g, 11th) and Tess Sussman (7.5 p/g, 22nd). Turner tops the lineup in rebounding as well in 10th with 6.2 boards per game. Maggie McCarthy (4.6 rb/g, 17th), Sussman (4.2 rb/g, T-19th) and Mullaney (4.2 rb/g, T-19th) follow closely behind.
- Harvard leads Brown in its all-time series, 56-34, and has won each of its last 11 match ups. The Crimson has bested Yale in its all-time series as well, leading the Bulldogs 53-33 in program history.

Leading the Way
The Friends of Harvard Women's Basketball Head Coach Kathy Delaney-Smith returns for her 40th season at the helm of the program. The winningest coach in Ivy League basketball history with 617 career victories, Delaney-Smith passed former Princeton head coach Pete Carril (514) for most wins by an Ancient Eight coach on either the men's or women's side during the 2013-14 season. Delaney-Smith owns a 617-421 overall record with a 360-159 mark in Ivy League play, including 12 20-win seasons, 11 Ivy titles and 15 postseason appearances.

For the first time since Nov. 30, the Crimson will return home to host Columbia on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. and Dartmouth on Monday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+.
