Harvard Men’s Lacrosse to Participate in 2022 Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lacrosse is set to travel to the DMV area to participate in the 2022 Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic next weekend. The Crimson will take part in a full weekend of activities including a fundraiser, youth clinic and alumni networking event that will culminate in an exhibition contest against the University of North Carolina.

The Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic was created in 2015 to celebrate the life of Bob Kemp, a father to two former All-American goalies who played at the University of Notre Dame. Kemp tragically passed away from a heart attack in 2014 but his legacy and passion for faith, family and athletics is kept alive through this event.

All proceeds from the event and the fundraiser will benefit the Washington Jesuit Academy in Bob's name. A local Washington D.C. area school, the WJA aims to serve promising young students in the surrounding low-income communities and neighborhoods by providing them with a full scholarship.

"The Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic is a tremendous opportunity to honor the legacy of a great man while immersing our student athletes in the mission of this event (benefitting The Washington Jesuit Academy) and exposing them to the beauty of our Nation's Capital," said the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, Gerry Byrne.

The Crimson will begin the weekend on Friday, October 7th with a night-time tour of the Lincoln Memorial. The next day, Harvard will be able to network with the local alumni before its practice and youth clinic at the Mater Dei school on Saturday, October 8th.

The group will then play its exhibition game against the University on North Carolina on Sunday, October 9th at 1:00 PM at the Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Md. After the game, the group will get to connect with the Harvard lacrosse community at a post-game tailgate event.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
