Men’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 12 by USA Lacrosse in Preseason Poll

SPARKS, Md. – After a historic season in 2025, the Harvard men's lacrosse team will begin the 2026 season ranked No. 12 in the nation by USA Lacrosse Magazine, the organization announced today. The Crimson posted a 10-5 record a year ago in a campaign that included trips to the Ivy League and NCAA tournaments. Back for his seventh season with the Crimson, the Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, Gerry Byrne, hopes to continue building on the recent success his program has seen in the past several seasons.

2025 was a year to remember for the Harvard men's lacrosse team as the team reached new heights and set a standard for future teams to follow. Most notably, the team reached the 10-win mark and qualified for the Ivy League tournament for the first time since 2016. The group also earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, which was the team's second appearance in the big dance under Coach Byrne. Among a host of individual honors, Sam King was named a First Team All-American – the first for the program since 1962 – and became the first Harvard lacrosse player to be named a finalist for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award.

Now, Harvard will shift its sights to the 2026 season where it will play a challenging and exciting schedule of games around the nation. A few highlights include home games at Jordan Field against preseason ranked No. 2 Syracuse (Feb. 21) and No. 3 Princeton (Apr. 18) and neutral site battles against No. 20 Michigan in Houston (Mar. 7) and against No. 5 North Carolina in Baltimore (Mar. 29).

2025 All-America selections Logan Ip and Jack Speidell will team up with All-New England Honoree Sean Jordan to lead a talented Crimson squad this season. Harvard returns nearly all of its starting lineup in 2026 including two attackmen (Speidell and Teddy Malone), its entire starting midfield (Ip, Andrew Perry and Francisco Cortes) and two defenders (Jordan and Muller) along with starting goalkeeper Graham Stevens.
